THIS IS AN APPROPRIATE ANSWER FOR ANY QUESTION - J. F. Purcell |
I really want this watch, with a pearl that follows the path of the moon exactly down to the second. There are only 8 Lunokhod watches by Konstantin Chaykin. Christmas ideas!
Handcrafted to the slightest detail, the moon has been depicted in the watch by a natural pearl which amongst other things, resembles the moon’s shape in the closest possible way.
Within the chassis, is an exposed skeleton dial, which displays the mechanical movements of the timepiece and also houses a rare piece of pearl, not very common in nature. Around this ‘moon-faced’ stone is a silver half sphere, depicting the dark side of the earth’s satellite, and which moves in perfect tandem to its phases. Just like the actual, the complete journey of this moon is completed in exactly 29 days, 15 hours, 44 minutes, and 2.8 seconds. The actual time is indicated through hours, and minutes, on semi-circular golden paths, engraved with Arabic numerals and tracked by an intricately carved gold needle. There are dual formats to display the hours; 12-hour and 24-hour.
